Trashy Book Review: 1970s at the Newstand

Diane Hanson's The History of Men's Magazines, Volume 5: 1970s at the Newstand is a cornucopia of old school filth. Not terribly hardcore, but there is some definite genitalia present from both sexes.

This book is full of classic magazine covers, interior images, and profiles on porn publishers such as Larry Flint and Al Goldstein, and magazines such as Cheri and Gallery. Hanson also has her list of the five most important covergirls of the era. It is also huge. Bigger than a D&D book and approximately five-hundred pages. Hanson's writing is witty and fun. She has experience in the adult magazine industry and explains a great deal about this period's history.
